So I just had my first birthday as a mama! It was perfect – there were Moonpig cards with pictures of us on, family get togethers, balloons, sunshine thanks to a lovely unexpected heatwave – and, of course, cake!
The lovely people at www.bakerdays.com sent me a beautiful personalised letterbox cake with my name on it to review, and even made it gluten free for me.
Not only that, they’ve also very generously given 15% off to all you lovely people when using my discount code NOTESFROMALEX15 at the checkout stage on their website!
Presented in an attractive tin, it’s such a clever idea for a lovely gift for someone that can just order online in minutes and have sent directly to them.
At £15 I think a lot of that cost is for the packaging, as obviously the cake is small enough to get through a letterbox but needs some protection to keep it intact and fresh. So I think it’s good value for money at this price.
The sponge was really lovely and one of the best gluten free ones I’ve tasted – so the staff definitely know their stuff! It was light, soft and the icing was lovely too, and I’m not usually a fan of icing!
It made my birthday having this special treat, thanks Bakerdays!
*I was not paid for this post, but did receive free cake for the purposes of reviewing with my honest opinion.
